Experience efficient data transport with the Thor 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Over 1 Fiber Media Converter SC / UPC. This converter enables bi-directional 10/100 Ethernet transport over a single fiber, featuring an SC/PC connector for transmitting at 1310nm and receiving at 1550nm. It includes an RJ-45 port for 10/100 to 100FX Single Fiber WDM conversion, allowing simultaneous data transmission over distances up to 20km using one single-mode fiber.
The units are designed as a set, labeled A and B, and must be used together to establish a complete fiber link. This technology allows data typically carried over two fiber strands to be transmitted over a single strand, using different light spectra to send signals in both directions. This effectively doubles the capacity of your fiber optic network, reducing operational costs by minimizing the need for additional fiber deployment.
Available in singlemode and multimode models, these converters can span distances of up to 40 kilometers (24.85 miles). They feature Link Fault Signaling, enabling SNMP-managed switches to detect failures in fiber channels or twisted-pair connections. This allows for automatic rerouting to a backup path when using a switch equipped with the Spanning Tree Algorithm.
