The H-4ADHD-XXX-IPLL modulator family from Thor Broadcast is crafted to handle a wide range of applications. This HDMI to COAX Modulator includes all the renowned features of previous Thor Broadcast Modulators, plus new functions for enhanced flexibility. It provides 5 full RF carrier outputs for generating channels from content ingested through the ASI input, with encoding available in MPEG-2 or H.264 for up to 1080p60 video streams.

With an adjustable bitrate from 1.5 to 19 Mbps and a variety of audio codecs, including MPEG-2 AAC, MPEG-4 AAC, and licensed Dolby AC/3, you can choose audio sources from embedded HDMI or Analog AV RCA ports. For surround sound, digital audio inputs can be set to “pass through” mode to maintain 5.1 and 7.1 audio encoded in Dolby format. Two mirrored ASI outputs offer additional flexibility for broadcasters.

This HDMI to COAX Splitter is ideal for professional stadiums and live events, widely used in collegiate sports venues. Programs input via ASI can be multiplexed and remapped to the ASI output, functioning as an ASI multiplexer. The unit also supports IPTV, with all four encoded programs mapped to unique IP address outputs in UDP or RTP format. The IP output can strip null packets to reduce network bandwidth or maintain constant bit rate (CBR) packet stuffing preferred by TV systems. Each channel can be independently configured for multicast or unicast outputs.

Closed captioning is supported via a dedicated analog 608 CC port with an RCA connector, adhering to industry standards for line 21 captioning systems. The modulator accommodates any 720 or 1080 line standard video signal in HDMI or Component YPbPr format for each channel and supports 480i for older TVs over RG6 RF coaxial cables. Like other professional Thor modulator chassis, this system can be configured with firmware for QAM, DVB-C, DVB-T, or ATSC channel format output.
